Right on our doorstep, Beadnell Bay has everything. The bay is a very popular spot for walkers, sunbathers, swimmers and is perfect for many different types of watersports. Think golden sands, graceful dunes and endless wildlife.

The wide beach is best suited to any kind of beach or water sports and you can enjoy anything from windsurfing and kiteboarding to waterskiing and bodyboarding.

This cluster of islands is home to the most impressive seabirds and Grey seals. Each year, the islands play host to tens of thousands of Puffins as they return annually to breed between the months of April and late July.

The Farne Islands are reachable by boat but there are daily boat trips and you might even spot some dolphins whilst sailing. As well as the day cruises you can also expect RHIB rides, sunset cruises and other trip options.

Steeped in history and stretching an impressive 73 miles from coast to coast, Hadrian’s Wall is an absolute must. With it’s rich history and and truly dramatic landscape, this iconic landmark is definitely not one to be missed.

Just a few miles North of Beadnell you’ll find the colourful fishing village of Seahouses. Enjoy the freshest fish and chips, explore the bustling harbour, visit Longstone Lighthouse or go crabbing with Children! There’s even an 18 hole crazy golf course looking over the famous sites.

You can catch many of the main boat excursions from the harbour at Seahouses with a choice of half and full day landing trips.

If you can drag yourself away from the golden beaches head inland to the cobbled market town of Alnwick. Visit the castle which had a starring role in Harry Potter, stretch your legs in Hulne Park or visit one of the many restaurants and bookshops.

Alnwick garden is also worth a visit with 12 acres of manicured gardens, the worlds largest Treehouse Restaurant & a Grand Cascade with 120 jets.

With more castles than any other county in the country, it’s a difficult to know which of the 70 castles and forts to visit when coming to the North East.

Both Bamburgh Castle and Dunstanburgh Castle are the most notable. Both of these dramatic sites are nearby by car and feature stunning backgrounds of the Northumberland coast, as well as fantastic facilities and visitor centres once you are there.

It might seem further a field but the glorious town of Berwick-Upon-Tweed is just a 30 minute car journey away.

Found on the border of England and Scotland, the northernmost town of England is certainly worth a visit. The family-friendly town is well known for it’s bustling streets, quirky cafes and exceptional shops and restaurants. Cobbles, castles, and coastline are all you need to prepare for when visiting Berwick.
